Although BigStuff3’s powertrain management systems have dominated in drag racing over the years, it’s also an incredibly effective tool for helping improve street car performance.
Luis Laurido has built a wicked Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Powered by a potent 427 ci LSX engine from Nelson Race Engines, the car uses a Powerglide transmission and PTC torque converter. With a 94mm single Pro Mod turbocharger running on gas, his tuner Brayhan Ferrero needed an easy yet effective way to be able to manage the car’s tune up – and they chose a BigStuff3 Gen3 ECU to do the job.
From a dig on the street, Luis’s boosted Trans Am can go from 60mph to 130mph in just about 3 seconds on a 28” tall tire. Not only does the car sound absolutely insane with tons of turbo spool, but the power Brayhan has pumped out of it by tuning the powerplant with his BS3 system enables it to run insanely hard.
