Ben Davidow Takes on New Ownership of BigStuff EFI

Newark, CA – June 10, 2023 – Longtime respected EFI system tuner, Ben Davidow, has officially taken over ownership of BigStuff, the trailblazing engine management company founded by legendary drag racing figure, John Meaney.

Meaney, often referred to as the grandfather of the aftermarket fuel injection industry who helped revolutionize drag racing, spent many years sharing his knowledge with Davidow and training up his successor to ensure the BigStuff brand continues its legacy of enabling wins, records, championships, and more milestones.

In December of 2021, the men agreed to a deal where ownership of Meaney’s BigStuff company was transitioned in its entirety to Davidow. Although Davidow now oversees the day-to-day operations and overall business, Meaney continues to play a key role in guiding the technology involved in BigStuff’s next generation Gen4 Extreme platform.

Davidow is focused on expanding the BigStuff team in order to offer a new level of exceptional client service for BigStuff customers around the world. Davidow has already started his new initiative with two North American offices, one in Southern California and the other in Michigan.

“I started running a BigStuff3 system back in 2003 when it first came out,” said Davidow, an accomplished driver as well as tuner. “As I raced and found success, John Meaney and I built a relationship… mostly around me asking for what the market now knows as BigStuff’s Gen4 platform. ​​After asking so many times, Meaney eventually told me I could come help him finish it.”

Davidow was so impressed with Meaney and what he built into a platform that Davidow visited Meaney roughly once a quarter for four years so he could be a part of the Gen4 development process. Through it, Davidow picked up priceless knowledge and the idea of him taking over BigStuff upon Meaney’s retirement was discussed; eventually, the men came to an agreement.

“This is an absolute dream come true for me and I couldn’t be happier with this opportunity,” added Davidow. “Now that we’re here, my focus is to continue improving the support around our platforms through our West Coast and East Coast teams and dealer network. A big new era for BigStuff has come!”
