Our Type-K thermocouples are used in conjunction with our BIG BAND modules for reading any type of temperature you would like to monitor. These sensors are meant for the harshest conditions, use exposed sensor tips and feature ultra fast response times up to 150 milliseconds.
When used as EGT sensors the GEN4 ECU can be configured so that in the event of a cylinder getting to hot based on your configuration setting, the fuel injector(‘s) can add more fuel or even shut the fuel delivery off. This is extremely helpful and will save your motor based on a lean condition from something going wrong on the fuel delivery into that cylinder. Many motors have been saved running this feature and it will pay for itself the first time its used!
